Brief Description: She's a 18 year old canadian singer/songwriter and guitarist. Her first single "Complicated"(highly recomendable) is a simple song about ppl being fake.Her debut album is called "Let Go". But that's not it, this gurl has taken out 2 more singles including wit videos and have succesfully stormed in TRL in number 1. "Sk8r Boi" and "I'm With You", but radios have been puttin other songs from the album, like: "Mobile" and "Nobody's Fool". She now(unintentionally)puts trends like ties with white sleeveless shirts, ect. One thing for sure... don't label her punk: "i'm not punk cuz i don't make punk music, i make pop rock....". Stand in wot you believe in, gurl! |

Nelly Furtado
Brief Description: She's a 24 year old canadian, half portuguese, which comes from her parents(They're from the azores island in portugal). She sings(not just english, but hindi, portuguese and spanish), writes, produces her own stuff. plays the guitar, ukalele(or however u spell it), and as far as I know, trombone. Her debut "Whoa Nelly", is a hip-hop/reggae/pop/trip-hop(and the list goes on)... album. Tis very great.
She worked wit the wonderful missy elliot in "Get your Freak om remix" & wit Juanes(colombian rocker) in his song "Fotografia" in his album "Un Dia Normal". Timabaland made a Hip-Hop remix of her song "Turn Off The Lights" with Ms. Jade, and her as well featured in Ms. Jade's song "Ching Ching", that uses a sample of Nelly's song "Baby Girl", and comes out singing in a really high pitched voice, lol. Her new album finally comes out this year: "I am recording my new album. Thanks for being patient. I am trying to make sure that I work just as hard on this album as I did on the first one. In today's musical climate, the trend is to pump out an album really quickly. I will try my best to not keep my fans waiting too long, but I will not sacrifice quality." |
Ani Difranco
Brief Description: God, if i start writing, i'll never finish. I mean it, literally. Ani DiFranco began singing and playing before live audiences in her hometown of Buffalo, N.Y. when she was 9, wrote her first song when she was 14, and moved into a place of her own at 15. When she turned 20 & decided to record an album, she had more than 100 original compositions to pick from. Borrowing money from friends, Ani started her own label "Righteous Babe Records(hense the link name,lol)" & released the record herself. Her self-titled debut was being copied & circulated from one dorm room to another across the country by enthusiastic fans. The grassroots response to that album and the ones that followed led to lots of offers for shows, and within a few short years Ani was moving from coffeehouses and college dates to larger theaters and major folk festivals. Other offers came, too, from labels big and small, but Ani refused them all, preferring to conduct her career completely on her own terms(rock on gurl!).
She's not just a singer/guitarist/songwriter. she also produces each album, oversees cover art, selects artists she wants to work with (from touring musicians to video directors and t-shirt designers) & sets her own release schedule.Because she has complete control over her recording output, Ani has become one of the most prolific artists of the '90s, releasing at least an album a year since 1991. A devout feminist and self-proclaimed bisexual, Ani takes on issues such as violence against woman, abortion and sexism in her songs... wot else?? god i told u wouldn't stop, but i'll stop before it gets perpetual.

Meg White from The White Stripes
Brief Description: Well, I don't know really much of her... so... i'll just use paraphrazing for the bio of the white stripes.With the unusually spare instrumentation of guitar/vocal and drums, the Detroit based brother and sister duo(aint that cute, i wish it was wit my brother and me, lol, dream on andrea!) of Jack and Meg White, a.k.a. the White Stripes, create a sound that recalls the rawest of white blues/rock bands of the '60s, as well as the stripped down rockabilly of the Flat Duo Jets.
Formed in 1997, the White Stripes released a self - titled debut album on the Detroit indie label Sympathy For The Record Industry two years later, followed by De Stijl in 2000. White Blood Cells, the band's latest, came in 2001. They also played at the 2002 MTV Movie awards with their single "fell in love wit a girl" when a bunch of candy cane kids(thats how they call their fans, I'M ONE OF THEM!) came out to the stage running wit white and red clothing. oh and Mag doesn't wear red clothing when she's not in stage, lol. |
Alicia Keys
Brief Description:Alicia Keys' classically - trained touch on piano & soulful vocal stylings have earned her soul sensation, Alicia filters her take on contemporary R&B through a musical sensibility steeped in jazz & blues.
Alicia has been involved in music from an early age. A New Yorker, she majored in choir at the Performance Arts School of Manhattan and kept up her piano lessons throughout her childhood & into her teens. After graduating high school at the age of 16, she went on to attend Columbia University, but the attraction of a career in music proved too great. Soon she dropped out and signed wit Arista Records in 1998.

Brief Description: Unlike many teen artists(u know, like britney spears. Annoying!), Michelle Branch isn't a pre - fab creation dreamed up in an executive boardroom. Inspired by the likes of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin(now she know about music!), Michelle picked up the guitar and started writing songs at age 14. She soon discovered her gift for putting words to music and in 2000 released her first CD, an independently produced album of all - original songs titled Broken Bracelet. She was later signed by Maverick Records(Madonna's Label), who released her major label debut, The Spirit Room, in 2001. |

Brief Description: This gurl is a ballet dancer and a musician! wow!Her debut album "Be Not Nobody" is gr8... she plays dat piano wonderfully and sings so beautifully. When she was starting out looking for record deals, her dad helped her tape her demo's in der own house, which was difficult, because with one simple noise... she'd had to strat all over again.
At her late teen age, she got in dis Ballet Academy, to become more of a gr8 dancer dan she is, but sometimes, she would just go to da music room and write songs alone in da room with da skool's piano. it was den and there when she decided to leave and start her music career.

Brief Description: My gawd, u have no idea how dis woman rocks da piano! her latest album "Scarlet's Walk" is amazing! the only time i actually saw her play was in a old mtv unplugged, and wow... she gives this presence and this energy dat's unbelievable. Her first album "little earthquakes" is still selling like hot cakes! lol
She's a beautiful woman, with a beautiful daughter, she now lives in London. |

Shirley Manson from Garbage
Brief Description: wow... Shirley Manson... where can i start?? lol... well she's scottish and has this sexy accent, lol. front-woman of Garbage... they have now 3 albums(Garbage, Version 2.o & Beautiful Garbage). for thier last album, she quickly learned how to play da guitar, which i respect soooo much because learning things as u get older, like with intruments, is hard, at least for me it is.
She is married.... to whom?? good wuestion, cuz i have no idea, lol. She is one of da boys in da group, and they are da perfect match. She has style and creativity, and her voice has these different voices, always get u by surprise... can't wait for Garbage's next album... buh bye!
